| Mid May Update |

Hi! Well I am on a plane again! It seems to be the only place I am sitting down long enough to keep caught up on my blog!! I was in Wisconsin a few weeks ago (right after Rolex) teaching at the Foster’s beautiful place in Hazelhurst, Wi. It was a great clinic and always so nice to see some of my horses that were in Florida with me, as I sort of consider them mine (at least for a short time!). Katie is really doing a super job with George (we call him Georgie Hot Pants because he really thinks he is hot stuff). She and George are moving up to the young rider level, and it is new for both of them. She has been really keeping up with the correct system and it was fun to see how well she was riding with practically no help. It is so exciting to watch a young person really start to think and make decisions as a young trainer.
On my way home from Wi, my middle sister Sam (I’m the youngest) met me in Minneapolis and we flew to Philly together. It was a much needed sister visit! It was the first visit she has come without her 3 children. We raced from the airport to the bar and we danced the night away! A much deserved stress reliever for both of us! We talked and bonded for the next few days, and I really needed that family time. Actually I was pretty excited to introduce her to my “new” family at Riveredge West. She also didn’t want to leave, and she doesn’t even ride!
I was so happy to be able to be home for the next weekend (May 2-3). It was the first weekend I was able to sleep in my own bed! It is so important to sometimes just let life slow down and spend some quality time with people who are important to you. It was quiet around the barn because Scott and Susanne went to Morven park for a show. I had my first Md students trailer in for the weekend! Florence (my assistant for the last 2 years) came up and rode Petri, and Shari P (my former working student and currently my book keeper) brought her horse up for lessons. Again was so fun to sit outside at our favorite place (the Chesapeake Inn) and catch up!
All the horses continue to get stronger and more settled. I hope to get some pictures of the team up here on this site very soon. So you can all have a picture in your head when I am telling stories. Ha ha and I always have stories! Happy riding! X
